Blanche: December will be here before you know it. The wheelchairs that you rent at the theme parks are for use only at the theme parks and must stay at the park upon leaving each day. If you think your father may need a wheelchair after you leave the park--the Animal Kingdom Lodge is very spread out--you may want to consider renting one for your entire trip. When renting for the length of your stay, you'll have it both for the parks and at the resort. Disney recommends several on their website. I'd suggest calling each of them to find what may work best for you and your family.
Wishing y'all a magical vacation! Whitney
