Hi, Melanie! Welcome to planDisney!
The breathtaking
fireworks shows are one of my favorite parts of a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! While I highly recommend taking in the full effects of the show from a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. in
Magic Kingdom Park at least once, sometimes it's also lovely to enjoy the fireworks away from the hustle and bustle of the theme park. Watching the show from one of the nearby
resort hotels along the
monorail route is an excellent idea, especially when you pair the fireworks with a delicious meal.
Disney's Contemporary Resort has some of the best fireworks views that you'll find outside of Magic Kingdom Park. While the observation deck on the top floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort is reserved for Guests dining at
California Grill, there is another observation deck on the fourth floor that is open to the general public. So if you're dining at
Steakhouse 71, you can simply take the escalator or elevator up to the fourth floor where the shops and
Chef Mickey's are located when you're done with your meal. Head outside to the observation deck where you'll have a great view of the skies above Magic Kingdom Park. The music for the fireworks show will even be piped in to add to your enjoyment of the show.
I recommend that you take a look at the
hours and events calendar to double-check the time of the fireworks on the date of your Steakhouse 71 reservation. Since you're arriving for your Walt Disney World Resort visit in late October,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be taking place on select nights. On evenings that this event is happening, there will be a special
Halloween-themed fireworks show, and the fireworks typically take place later in the evening on party nights. If there is no special event scheduled for the date of your dinner at Steakhouse 71, then you should be able to catch a performance of
Happily Ever After at the regularly scheduled showtime.
Melanie, I think you're going to love your dinner at Steakhouse 71. Be sure to save room for the Steakhouse 71 Chocolate Cake. This dessert and some spectacular fireworks would be the perfect ending to a magical Walt Disney World Resort day!
See ya real soon!
