Hiya Victoria,
Welcome to planDisney! It is never fun to have to cancel plans, especially when it is for a visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth. I’m sorry to hear that you may have to do this, but hopefully I can help you navigate the cancellation process so you can get to the fun task of scheduling a new visit.
Let me start by saying, Victoria, that depending on the type of booking you have, the cancellation policy can vary. My number one tip is to always go to your confirmation email for your reservation and scroll to the bottom under the “Contact Us” information to the “Terms and Conditions.” The cancellation policy for your specific booking is outlined in that section and is personalized to your reservation type. In terms of general cancellation guidelines, if you have a room-only reservation, meaning you just booked that one-night stay without theme park tickets as part of the reservation, then you generally can cancel up to 8 days in advance of your check-in date without penalty. After that date, there is typically a cancellation fee associated. If you have a
Vacation Package for the one-night stay that includes your theme park tickets and a dining plan, for example, you can generally cancel up to 30 days in advance without penalty. If you cancel between 2 and 29 days, then you will forfeit the deposit. But again, I highly suggest checking the policies at the bottom of your email to confirm which policy applies to your reservation.
I hope this was helpful, Victoria. Before I let you go, if you are able to visit this summer, don’t miss out on
