Hi there, Michelle! We are so happy you stopped by planDisney. I can see that you are hoping to visit the Happiest Place on Earth in just ten days, so I won't waste a pixie-dusted minute in getting to the bottom of your question!
Let's jump right in!
Single-day theme park tickets are sold with pricing based on the day of the week and the time of year. Each theme park ticket is assigned to one of six tiers. Tier 0 is the lowest-priced ticket, but has the most blackout days with the reverse being true for Tier 6. I think this is likely the issue that is arising for you as you are trying to make a reservation for November 16th. From the information you've sent through, I believe you are currently holding a Tier 1 ticket while November 16th requires a Tier 2 ticket. You can always reference the
ticket tier breakdown to see which blackout dates apply to your ticket. I recommend double-checking your current ticket tier by either visiting the "Tickets & Passes" section of the
Disneyland Mobile App or pulling up your original ticket purchase confirmation. Usually quick search of your inbox for "Disneyland Confirmation" will lead you to that original email!
Not to worry, this does not mean that your park dreams are over! The good news is that you can upgrade your ticket by visiting the Main Entrance Ticket Booth in person. I'm hoping that you are local to the Disneyland Resort and can try to do this ahead of time! If you are looking to upgrade the same day that you are hoping to visit the parks, you would be subject to same-day
theme park reservations, which may or may not be available. I would hate for you to arrive at the gates only to be turned away from the magic. If you are not local, I recommend giving the
Guest Services team a call and speaking with them directly about your situation. Looking at the
theme park reservation calendar, it does look like November 16th is a popular day. While reservations are not available as of this moment, continue to keep your eyes on that calendar! Guests are always changing their plans and this calendar will update with those modifications!
One out-of-the-box idea to consider is that your current ticket has a pretty long window before it expires. If you purchased the ticket very recently, single-day tickets do not expire until December 30, 2024. If you purchased it earlier this year, your expiration is likely December 30, 2023. You can double-check the expiration date when you pull up your ticket on the Disneyland Mobile App or within your purchase confirmation email. Either way, that's a long runway for that magic carpet! If reservations open up for November 16th, you could consider purchasing a
new ticket and saving your current ticket to use down the line for another visit. You now have the list of blackout dates so can plan accordingly to ensure it's smooth sailing into another park day!
Michelle, I sure hope you are able to make your next visit extra magical no matter when you make your way to the parks! If you have any more questions, we are happy to help you here at
planDisney!
Never stop dreaming!
