Hi I understand that the red phone boxes at the UK Pavillion at Epcot no longer accept incoming calls. As this used to be part of the magic asking complete strangers how they were enjoying their vacation etc. can you tell me why calls have been blocked.

Hi, Bob!  I've just now called the phone boxes myself to make sure before I answered, and the phone numbers are not operational.  I could not, however, find out why.

I could speculate on a number of reasons, but the one I keep coming back to in my mind is that in the UK, the red phone boxes are being phased out, as so many people now just use their cell (or in the UK - mobile) phones.  Just like here in the US, you would be hard pressed to find a phone booth anywhere, as we all have our emergency phones in our hip pockets!

I'm not sure what the future holds for the phone boxes at EPCOT.  I'm secretly hoping one is a Tardis!

Sorry I couldn't give you better news :-(  I hope you'll still find the magic on your upcoming vacation!
