Greetings, Breanna!
Welcome to planDisney! I am delighted to hear that you have an additional person joining you on your upcoming adventure. Sharing a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is sure to create a lifetime of memories for everyone in your travel party. Be sure to download the
My Disney Experience mobile app and
link your entire group before you arrive. This will save you time during your vacation and will help your party make real-time plans and itinerary changes on the go.
When booking a
Walt Disney World vacation package, everyone on the reservation will have the same ticket type, promotions, and number of park days. The package cannot be modified to include a room-only stay for an individual Guest. You can easily add the Guest to your upcoming stay, but they will also need to have the same vacation package. So what to do when you all want to stay together but one Guest already has tickets? There are a few options I suggest. The first option would be to add the additional Guest to the package and have them change the dates of their current tickets for another stay in the magic at a later date. If this is not an option the Guest can book a separate room-only reservation at your resort. You can link your reservations and request adjoining rooms or accommodations close to each other. Finally, you can cancel your current reservation and make a room-only booking for your group. All Guests currently on the package would need to
buy theme parks tickets and can do this through the Walt Disney World website. Any package promotions you have may not be available for a room-only reservation, so be sure to check out the
special offers page before making your decision. This option is a bit more complicated and involves several steps. Before selecting this choice I strongly recommend making sure your
resort has availability for the type of room you would like to book. Releasing one reservation would not guarantee you could book the same resort hotel room. You will also need to make these changes before your final payment is due (30 days prior to arrival).
If this option is the one that works best for your group, you may want to consider making these changes by phone with a friendly Cast Member with
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. This will help ensure the old reservation is canceled, the new one has all of your desired Guests, and you purchased tickets for all that will need them.
Before signing off I want to offer a quick reminder to make your
Disney Park Pass reservations if you have not already completed this important planning step. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. I would feel terrible if you missed visiting your favorite park because reservations were unavailable.
I hope that your upcoming trip is memorable and magical!
We'll see ya real soon!
