Hiya Lucy!
Welcome to planDisney! The return of
dining plans has generated so much excitement and I'm eager to get to use it myself soon. It looks like you have the Disney Dining Plan which provides you with one table-service meal, one quick-service meal, and one snack for each night of your stay. Of course, don't forget your Resort Refillable Mug which provides unlimited refills at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel's refillable drink stations.
You are correct, that there is a change from the past in that a quick-service meal cannot be exchanged into three snacks. I used to do the same as you in that my last day was sometimes how I finished up my meals and snacks by purchasing packaged treats to take home. I'm sorry if that means that you will be canceling your dining plan. Make sure that you
speak to your travel agent and get this resolved ASAP to avoid any penalties or issues.
Now, I know you had plans to use any leftover quick-service meals for snacks but I want to make sure you know that this is not a great use of your meals. My goal this year is to purchase snacks that are close to $10 to ensure I get a great value. Otherwise, I may as well pay in cash for those items. In the end, what you need to do to enjoy your vacation is all that matters. Eat the food you love and enjoy it! I set up eating goals for all my trips. (Yes, I'm that passionate about food.) My upcoming February trip includes enjoying the Rainbow Kakigori from
Kabuki Cafe in EPCOT and a Num Num Cookie from
Neighborhood Bakery in Disney's Hollywood Studios. Maybe you can be inspired to make your list if you have not done so already.
I hope that you have a delicious time no matter what happens and if you have questions feel free to
let me know!Happy Planning!
