Hi, I want to stay at the Animal Kingdom and see the animals when we wake up and do all the special extras like the safari etc. What is the best time of year to see the animals? February or August? Best lodge/villa to stay in for 4. Recommended activitie

    Hi MaryEllen,

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is such a lovely resort. As you mentioned, there are many types of accommodations available. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers typical resort hotel-style rooms which can sleep up to four guests, as well as suites which sleep six or eight guests. Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village offer villa-style accommodations which include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas. Depending on the villa you choose, these can sleep between four and twelve guests. I love the one-bedroom and larger villas because they offer separate sleeping and living areas. I also love that the one-bedroom and larger villas have a full kitchen and washer and dryer right in the villa.

As to time of year to visit, there are always animals at this resort.  Since Florida's climate is fairly warm year-round, the animals are always there. It is possible that in August when it is warmer, the animals will be more active in the morning and evening when it is cooler.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Sunrise Safari is a wonderful experience. My husband and I did this, and seeing the animals so early in the morning with a cast members dedicated only to our our small group was wonderful. We also loved the breakfast! Please note that this experience is available only to Kilimanjaro Club Level guests and Disney Vacation Club members.

I would love to help you plan more, MaryEllen; however, I am limited in the amount of space that I have to answer. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
