Hi there, Gemma! Welcome to planDisney!
Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is only about a month away, and I'm sure you and your family are getting excited! I love visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during this time of year. The
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival is in full swing, and you can celebrate spooky season at
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It's the perfect time for a trip, so let's make sure you and your family are all ready to go with your
My Disney Experience accounts.
There are a couple of ways to go about setting up My Disney Experience for your family members. When I visit Walt Disney World Resort with my husband and our teenage children, they know that Mom is the Disney expert, so they let me handle all of the plans. Rather than having their own My Disney Experience accounts, I have a profile set up under my account for my husband and each of my children. I manage all of the plans for my whole family through my account, and this works well for my family.
If you would like to add My Disney Experience profiles for your kids under your account, it's easy to set up. Open your
My Disney Experience mobile app, and click on the three lines at the bottom-right of your screen. Next, scroll down until you see "My Profile," and click on that. From there, you can select "Family & Friends List." In your Family & Friends List, you'll want to scroll down and click on "Add a Guest," then select "I'll enter their name and age." You can then enter your child's information to set up their profile.
Guests aged 13 and up may have their own My Disney Experience accounts, so if your children would prefer to have the My Disney Experience mobile app on their phones and manage their own profiles, they may do so. They will need to set up a My Disney Experience account using their own email address, then you can add them to your Family & Friends List in order to plan together for your theme park visit.
If your kids set up their own accounts, have them click on "Show My Linking Code" under the "My Profile" section of their My Disney Experience mobile app. Once they have that linking code on their phone, the other members of the family can scan it with their phones to add everyone to the Family & Friends List.
No matter which way you choose to set things up, as long as everyone in your travel party is linked in the Family & Friends List, you'll be able to plan together for things like
Disney Genie+ service,
virtual queues, and
Disability Access Service (DAS) ride return times. I hope this information is helpful, and if you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Wishing you a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Samantha
