hi! I have read that the parking at MK is awful, especially if you have a large stroller and little ones in tow. Would you suggest parking at Epcot and taking the monorail to MK? Would it be simpler to do it that way?

    Hi Melissa!

The issue is really the fact that you have to take a parking tram from the Magic Kingdom parking lot to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you will then board a monorail or ferry boat.  Many guests don't like putting children in their strollers, wheeling it to the tram, taking them out and folding the stroller, etc.

If you go to Epcot, you can walk or take a parking tram.  Epcot is a smaller parking lot so walking is definitely an option there; in that case, you would walk to the monorail station and then catch the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then a monorail to the Magic Kingdom.  It's a good plan as long as you will return to Epcot before Epcot closes.  You don't want so spend a late night in the Magic Kingdom only to realize at the end that your car is at Epcot with no good way to reach it.

Another option is to arrive at the Magic Kingdom about an hour before the posted opening time.  In that case, you will most likely be parked in a parking area within walking distance of the Transportation and Ticket Center.  A final option is to stay in a Disney hotel and take Disney transportation to and from the Magic Kingdom.

I hope this helps with your planning!  Write back if you have any more questions.
