Hi, I have 0 points left on my April 2024 use year. if I make a booking using my april 2025 use year points for a stay in May 2025, and cancel it, do the point go back into the 2025 use year or 2024 use year

    Hi there Lorna,

Welcome to planDisney! It’s so great to chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club member and assist with a vacation planning question, thanks for visiting!

I love dreaming of my family’s next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it is fun to imagine where we will be staying next. The Planning Tools on the DVC website are so helpful when deciding on how to use your Vacation Points. Being able to bank and borrow Points provides Members with even more flexibility when planning a vacation. Let’s take a look at your numbers, Lorna.

Since you are hoping to travel in May 2025, and you have an April Use Year, you are already in the window where you can borrow your April 2025 Points. You can book your Home Resort beginning 11 months in advance of your check-in date and seven months before your check-in date if you are staying at any other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. If you borrow any 2025 Vacation Points and cancel or modify your reservation 31 days or more before your check-in date, the Vacation Points will return to the current Use Year (2025). It is important to note that borrowing Vacation Points is a final transaction.

If you cancel your reservation 30 days to the day before check-in, the Points will go into a Holding Account. These Points can still be used through the end of the current Use Year (not banked or borrowed) and must be used at least 60 days before the check-in date.

I highly recommend chatting with Member Services by phone. They can provide clarification and any insight you need.

I hope this information is helpful, Lorna. Please visit planDisney again and don't hesitate to let me know if you have any more questions.

    Welcome Home,
