Hi, I am planning another family trip to Disneyland in 2027 and was wondering the best time to visit between January and March? Many hotels have limited vacancies already especially in March, is there a special event happening then? THANKS

Hello and welcome back to planDisney, Pamela. We're so glad you came back to visit us with this question. Once you've returned from a visit to the Disneyland Resort, it's always fun to start dreaming about and planning for your next magical visit. So let's get this planning party started!

The beginning months of the year are a great time to visit Disneyland. It's fairly common to see lower crowds after the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort come to an end, after the first week or so in January. Things generally tend to pick up as the events for the year kick off, usually starting with the Lunar New Year Celebration. While it's not an exact science, I usually try to look at the event calendar that Disney Parks Blog has been publishing for the Disneyland Resort to see when events are taking place as guidance for my plans. Although a calendar for 2027 most likely won't be shared until the end of this year, the current 2026 calendar makes for a good reference point. While there are typically some staple events year after year, we never know what magical things Mickey has in store for us.

March can be a busy time with a lot of schools across the country starting their spring break. There is also a convention center near the resort, which hosts many large events throughout the year and that could be why you're seeing limited vacancy, though I can't say for sure.

No matter when you decide to go, an adventurous spirit can go a long way. Whether it's busy or less crowded, I always tend to have a good time because, hey, I'm at Disneyland! There are tools like Lightning Lane Multi Pass that can help reduce wait times for attractions, as well as the mobile order feature in the Disneyland app to avoid any hangry situations. I'll even take a quick raft ride over to Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island for a break from the hustle and bustle. It's a great place to take a moment to slow things down.

Well, Pamela, I hope that sharing some of my strategies and thoughts is helpful as you're getting a head start on planning your 2027 visit. I'll be sending all the pixie dust your way as your plans come together for your magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please come back to visit us with any other questions that you might be curious about. You've got a friend in me.
