Hi, I plan a trip to Disney on January 4, 2017 to January 14. I saw that marathon will take place weekend 6-8 January. Will it be a lot of more people cause it's marathon week-end. I plan those date cause habitually it's less crowded. Thanks m

    Hey there, Karine!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is a time when the resort and parks are filled with excitement, energy, and lots of guests! During the 2015 marathon weekend, more than 80,000 guests were registered for this annual sporting event. Typical crowd levels are low during January, just after the holiday season. However, the Disney Marathon weekend will have more guests than normal. Even though every guest registered for this marathon may not visit the park or be staying on Disney property, there will definitely be more excitement and magic in the air as they run or walk through the Disney resort area during that weekend.

Tip:Try visiting the week before or after marathon weekend to avoid large crowds.

Happy planning and feel free to stop by and visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel anytime!
