Hi..I will be in LA in Nov 2022 & want to do the Savi Workshop. My issue is getting the Lightsaber back to Australia by plane which might be hard. I have heard Disney is able to send Sabers within USA but can you send to Australia?

Galactic greetings, Allen, and welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you have plans to visit a galaxy far, far away, and I couldn’t be more excited for your journey this November! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of my favorite places to visit at Disneyland Park. It’s such an immersive experience, from piloting the Millennium Falcon, to sipping on Blue Milk, to becoming one with the Force as you build a custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers!

Now, to help you figure out the best way to get your custom lightsaber home to Australia! To get some help, I called the Disneyland Resort’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Experiences phone line, and the Cast Member I spoke with had several ideas for you. First, as you mentioned, shipping is available after completing your experience at Savi’s Workshop. The Cast Member I spoke with couldn’t confirm if they’re able to ship internationally, but she had a good feeling that they can. So, when purchasing your lightsaber at the register, let the “Gatherer” (Cast Member) know that you’d like to ship the lightsaber home upon completion. When you’re done, a Gatherer will help you box up your lightsaber, and then you can take it to First Order Cargo (located just around the corner near the First Order TIE echelon), where a Cast Member can assist you with shipping options.

If you’re staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, another option is to ask for assistance with shipping at the Bell Desk of your hotel. Regular shipping and handling fees will apply.

Last but not least, you can also choose to bring the lightsaber on the plane with you as your carry-on. I’ve heard of Guests storing their lightsaber in the overhead compartment of their airplane. The 31” lightsaber blade can be removed from the hilt (the base) to make this possible. It’s always a good idea to call your airline ahead of time to make sure this option would work for you.

I hope this information helps you plan your galactic travels to Black Spire Outpost, Allen. Just let us know of any other questions, and we’ll do our best to get you an answer. We always enjoy helping fellow members of the Resistance!

May the Force be with you,
    Kristin
