Hi there, Alexandra! Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with such an oh-so-sweet question!
First and foremost, congratulations on your marriage! And you're planning a surprise split stay during your magical honeymoon adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth?! That sounds like a dream come true and is
such a sweet surprise. I absolutely
love a split stay, where you stay at two (or more) Disney Resort hotels during your holiday. I love experiencing the different locations, theming and amenities of each Resort. It will be like two honeymoons in one! I'm so happy and excited for you and your hubby, Alexandra! Now, let's make sure you can surprise your sweetie.
The first thing you need to do to pull off this spectacular surprise is to make sure that your husband does not see the second Resort reservation on his My Disney Experience account or mobile app. To do that, it will be a little tricky and take a few steps, but I think you can pull it off. First, when you make the Resort reservation, make it for two Guests, but do not link his My Disney Experience profile (his name) to the reservation. When the system prompts you to add the name of your second Guest, just click "Add a Guest" and add a decoy Guest name for your hubby.
If you have already made the Resort reservation, log into your
My Disney Experience account, go to the Resort reservations under "My Plans" and see if you can modify the reservation to change the Guests listed. Change your hubby's name to a decoy name, and like Tiana, you're almost there!
Next, go to your
Family & Friends List on your My Disney Experience account, click "Update" next to your hubby's profile and select "Only Our Shared Plans." Now, your husband will only see the plans he is listed on. Since he technically is not listed on the second Resort reservation, he will not be able to see that reservation on his My Disney Experience account. Shhhh!
Just be aware that since your husband's My Disney Experience profile will not be listed on the second Resort reservation, he will not be able to tap into the room. To remedy this, just stop by the front desk, explain the situation and have him added to the room reservation.
On the day you switch Resorts, you will have to pack up all of your things and call
Bell Services from your room's phone to have your luggage transferred from one Resort to the other. If you'd like to reveal your sweet surprise now, you can, and if you've completed
Online Check-in, you'll be notified via text and/or email when your new room is ready. However, if you'd rather just take your husband to the new Resort and surprise him there, I suggest planning a
spa service or
golf game for him while you pack up the luggage and have Bell Services whisk it off for you. Your secret is safe with me!
I hope this helps, Alexandra, and I hope you and your husband have the most magical and memorable honeymoon at
Walt Disney World Resort! Good luck with your oh-so-sweet and romantic surprise! I know you can pull this off. Stop by any time with any questions you may have.
Adventure is out there!
