    HIi, We are going to Disney World from Dec15-21 and have bought the Disney Dining plan with the resort package.Is it absolutely necessary to make a reservation before hand for a restaurant even when you are not planning to have character dining? Thanks.

    Hi Milap,

    Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) are strongly recommended all year round at Walt Disney World but especially so when travelling during peak times like around Christmas.

    You will probably find that a large number of restaurants will be completely booked up already for during your visit and I am not just talking about Character meals.

    In order to ensure that you are able to obtain dining reservations at table-service restaurants during your stay and to avoid disappointment if there are some places that you would particularly like to dine at, I would definitely advise you to make your ADRs at your earliest possible opportunity.
