Hi Angie,
The
Wild Africa Trek at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a truly incredible experience, and hands down my favorite within the
Enchanting Extras Collection! This immersive, guided tour takes you through lush landscapes that mirror the African savannah, offering close-up encounters with some of the most amazing animals on the planet.
The trek lasts about three hours, which I’ve found to be the perfect amount of time to soak it all in without feeling rushed. It’s not an all-day experience, but it’s definitely more than just a quick excursion, allowing you to really settle into the adventure. You'll be harnessed up and led across rope bridges above hippos and crocodiles, gaining an exhilarating perspective of these creatures in their naturalistic habitats. Your guide will share incredible insights into the animals’ behaviors, habits, and how Disney’s expert Animal Care Team looks after them.
One of the most memorable highlights of the trek (besides those amazing ropes bridges) is dining on the savannah. Midway through, you’ll stop at a private, shaded overlook to enjoy African-inspired snacks and refreshments. It’s a serene, breathtaking setting where you can see giraffes, rhinos, and other animals, making it a dining experience unlike any other. We really enjoyed the snacks too!
While the
Caring for Giants and the
Up Close with Rhinos Tour experiences are fantastic for learning about Disney’s conservation efforts, I would still say Wild Africa Trek is a standout. You’ll not only learn but also get a hands-on adventure you won’t forget. I’m so excited to share this with my kids on our next trip! If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure with a deeper understanding of wildlife and conservation, this tour is absolutely the one to choose.
