Hiya, Michele! Welcome to our little corner of the magic here at planDisney! A post-holiday visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is honestly one of my best-kept secrets. The holly jolly season will have just come to a close and the parks will have an air of calm after the holiday hustle. While I can't make any guarantees, this week usually lends itself to having quieter crowds, and you might find yourself with a bit more wiggle room in those Lightning Lanes!
I have some great news! The January ticket and reservation calendars are now open! It sounds like you are looking to
purchase new tickets as well as
make reservations with existing, unused tickets. I hope I have that right! For the new tickets, just head to the
Disneyland website, select the number of tickets and the date and you should be good to go. As of today, all the days within your stay are currently available, subject to change of course. You may want to consider if you will be adding the Park Hopper option and/or
Genie+ to those tickets as well. Genie+ will grant you and your Guests access to
19 Lightning Lanes across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park to save some magical minutes during your park days! You'll also have the added benefit of unlimited digital downloads of ALL the Disney PhotoPass photos captured each day! If you choose to skip Genie+ at the time of purchase, you can always add it directly from the app once you scan into your park day!
When it comes to making theme park reservations for existing, unused tickets, this should just take a few taps of your magic wand if they are linked to your account and they have not yet expired. The expiration date should be displayed just under the barcode if you are looking at your ticket in the "Tickets and Passes" section of the Disneyland Mobile App. To make park reservations for these tickets, tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and select "Make a Park Reservation". The system will automatically pull up all Guests with active tickets linked to your account to select from and also allow you to link new or additional tickets. Once you select your party, you will see the calendar and the dates available for the tickets you are holding. If for some reason one of your dates is showing in gray, it may be that your current ticket is in a
lower tier than that day requires. It looks like you could use a Tier 0 ticket for all of your park days except January 13th which requires a Tier 3 ticket.
If you are interested in upgrading your current, unused tickets to multi-day tickets or Park Hoppers, or if you discover that your current tickets are expired, it's time to give the
Guest Services team a call! These Cast Members are happy to help walk you through your options!
Michele, this was a lot to take in! If you have any more follow-up questions, please feel free to reach back out to us! Before I let you go, I just want to put a few more dates on your calendar. Dining reservations will open up 60 days out from your park days, and you'll be able to put the finishing touches on your planning six weeks out when the park hours and
Entertainment Schedule are released! No matter what, magic awaits!
Happy planning!
