Hi,for pelican plunge do you have to know how to swim ,it’s me and my boys we are non swimmers,or is it possible to walk over just wishful thinking I guess,I really would like for us to explore that area but if not we’ll something else to do

Hello, Tyneisa! Welcome back to planDisney. I'm so glad you have returned with another question.

Your day at Disney's Castaway Cay is going to be fantastic with your boys! There are lots of activities to choose from, whether you'd like to spend time relaxing in the ocean, playing in the shade, or exploring the island. Pelican Plunge requires good swimming skills to reach the floating platform, so if you and your boys are not comfortable swimming, it's not the best option for you. There is a climbing structure in the more shallow waters of the Family Beach area that may be more suitable for your family and life vests are available to use while in the water.

When it's time to take a break from the sunshine, check out In Da Shade Game Pavilion, a short walk from Castaway Cay Family Beach. Here you'll find basketball hoops, chess, table tennis, and foosball for your enjoyment.

If your boys like to ride bikes, consider renting bicycles and taking a leisurely ride around the island. A Castaway Cay bike ride is a tradition for my family, followed by a soft-serve ice cream cone. If the lunch buffet is still open when we're finished with our ride, we'll grab two cookies from the buffet and sandwich the soft-serve ice cream between them for a decadent and refreshing treat!

One more thing, Tynesia! If your sons are registered for the youth spaces onboard the ship, they can also check out the youth offerings on the island. Guests between the ages of 3-12 are welcome to check into Scuttle's Cove and take part in the water play and activities led by the counselors on Castaway Cay. If your boys are older, the teen and tween counselors also plan for some fun on the island. They'll have scheduled times to meet at the teens-only Hide Out or In Da Shade Game Pavilion. You can check out the schedule once you are onboard the ship using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app

If your boys head to the kid's activities, you can visit the adult-exclusive beach, Serenity Bay, for some relaxing moments of your own. However you choose to spend the day, I hope it's a memorable and magical time!

Please sail to us again with more questions. My pals and I are always happy to help!
