Hi, Jaz! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
As the mom of a child with special needs, I really appreciate the way that
Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to accommodate
Guests with disabilities. My son is on the autism spectrum, and when I visit the Walt Disney World theme parks with him, we use Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS is an accommodation intended for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment.
At this time, the option to pre-register for DAS and to book DAS Advance experiences is only available to Guests residing in the United States and Canada. Although you won't be able to select any DAS attractions in advance, I think you'll find that some other recent updates to the system will make using this accommodation during your visit even easier than before.
When you arrive at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks, you'll want to head straight to
Guest Relations to inquire about registering your brother for DAS. If your brother is approved for DAS, you'll be able to schedule your ride return times right from your
My Disney Experience mobile app. This update to DAS makes the service so convenient to use! Also, if you're planning to purchase the
Disney Genie+ service, you can schedule your Lightning Lane entrances right along with your DAS return times. This is a great way to maximize your theme park fun!
Jaz, if you have any other questions as you get ready for your trip, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow planDisney panelists and I would love to help you and your little brother have the most magical vacation ever!
See ya real soon!
Samantha
