Hi! Coming to Disney with my 5 year old for the first time next week! Exciting and overwhelming! Is it better to buy tickets before we get there and have plans for each park or will we be ok to plan the night before we go to a specific park? Thanks!

    Hello, dear Denise!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for visiting us before your vacation. I hope we can help you make the most of this exciting adventure!

I'd suggest buying your Theme Park tickets as soon as you can. After purchasing them, you will be able to link them to your My Disney Experience account and start choosing your complimentary FastPass+ selections. You will be able to schedule three FastPass+ reservations per day. They will grant you access to attractions through a much shorter queue. That's a very strategic benefit that comes with your Walt Disney World Resort ticket, so it's wise to make the most of it.

To do so, you will have to have a My Disney Experience profile that includes your little one, so make sure to visit the Family and Friends tab and add your little Mouseketeer to your planning party as a Guest before selecting your FastPass+ options.

In addition to purchasing the tickets, I'd also suggest making a few dining reservations, especially if you're interested in attending meals with characters. At Epcot, the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is a great option to meet princesses, for example. If your family would rather meet Mickey and his friends, Tusker House Restaurant at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is also a fantastic choice.

I hope that you both have the most wonderful time at the Walt Disney World Resort, Denise! If you have more last-minute questions, please, come back. We love to help!

May the magic be with you,
