Hi! Car or Disney transportation? We 're staying on the property but plan to have early character meals. Also at night for a 4 1/2 yr old & senior when leaving after the fireworks. Any suggestions?

    Hi Kelly,

That's a great question, but a little tough to answer without details about where you are staying and which breakfasts you have chosen.. So I'll be as specific as I can.

First, let me tell you that my family almost always uses Disney transportation. We seldom move our car until departure. We frequently hop from park to park, so it's nice not to spend time wending our way through parking lots.

We never drive to Magic Kingdom. Moving from the parking lot to the Transportation and Ticket Center to a monorail or ferry just seems so much more cumbersome than taking a bus. The same goes for the reverse journey to the car at the end of the day.

You should have no trouble getting transportation from your resort to early reservations at Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom. You also can walk easily from the Magic Kingdom bus depot to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's.

There are a couple of exceptions to our no-driving rule: If you have an early character breakfast at Tusker House at Animal Kingdom, I would probably drive. You would be able to park near the park entrance and get there quickly.

It might also be easier to drive to the character breakfast at the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club resort if you are not staying in one of the Epcot area resorts near the Beach Club. However, you will need to move your car after breakfast because parking is limited. The same goes for parking at the Grand Floridian for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.

For every other character breakfast, I would be inclined to take Disney transportation, which normally runs special routes just for those with breakfast reservations. It's good to check in with the guest services desk the night before to verify. They can let you know what time to be at the bus stop.

I hope that's useful. Please write back with more details if I can clarify for you in any way. Enjoy!
