Jambo, Linda! You’re about to embark on a journey that will rival Simba’s! The
Sense of Africa Breakfast and Tour is a 3 hour tour (don’t worry, Gilligan isn’t present!) during which you’ll experience an African-inspired breakfast, a private backstage tour, and close up encounters of the animal kind.
There are no official Disney PhotoPass Photographers on the Sense of Africa tour, but you’re welcome to bring your smartphone or your point-and-shoot camera to take pictures of the animals and in the exhibits. There is no backstage photography allowed, but don’t worry, the Cast Members guiding you on your tour will tell you when photography okay or encouraged, and even take a photo of you and the animals if you like. Some of my favorite photos from Walt Disney World Resort have been taken by Cast Members using my phone! When you’re checking in for the tour a the Sunset Lounge of
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, be sure to rise early and get on the road. You might have to call a taxi or take a personal car to the Lodge, but if you’re using Disney Transportation on property, I would advise checking with the Concierge, as the
Minnie Vans have started booking rides and that would be an awfully fun way to get there!
The tour is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays for $249 plus tax (per guest), so I would splurge on the wonderful tour and bring your camera with you. You may call (407) 939-8687 for reservations and if you are an
Annual Passholder or DVC Member, you’ll get 15% off! Smile for the birdie, and remember: Hakuna Matata! ~ Lindsey P.
