Hi Shannon,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical vacation.
This past Memorial Day weekend, I stayed at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. My daughter and I took part in the Beignet Dash. I found this to be a fun, low-key, unique activity! Let me share with you our experience.
The Beignet Dash takes place on Sundays. Check-in was at 7:30 a.m. and the Dash began at 8:00 a.m. Check-in was near the
Doubloon Lagoon Pool, between it and Building 5, along the Riverwalk. We checked in and paid $15 each for the entrance fee. It was a fun atmosphere, with many runners and walkers, but not an overwhelming amount. We all got race bibs specifically for the Beignet Dash and put our names on them.
The course was 1.5 miles up into
Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and back, so that the finish line was the same as the start. It was very low-key - some people ran, while others walked. When we finished, we got plastic medals that indicated we had done the Beignet Dash as well as a goodie bag with some other trinkets like beads and a pin. When we finished, the crown on top was being able to tear off the bottom of our race bib and take it to
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for free beignets! Now that's the way to end a race!
I heartily recommend this activity, Shannon. I hope that this information was helpful for you!
