Bonjour, Martin! Welcome to planDisney!
As a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder, I am always in the Disney Parks purchasing merchandise (Loungefly mini backpacks are kind of my thing) or buying yummy treats. Regardless, when I'm not using Apple Pay, I'm using my handy
Disney Gift Cards. I am more than happy to share what I've learned about using a gift card purchased in Canada. Let's get into it!
I have good news for you, Martin: If you purchased a physical Disney Gift Card in Canada, your purchases at Walt Disney World Resort will be automatically subject to currency exchange rates. Electronic Disney Gift Cards purchased online are not subject to exchange rates if they were purchased in U.S. dollars. So, please feel free to bring your Disney Gift Card with you to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
You may use Disney Gift Cards just about anywhere on Disney property. From quick-service restaurants like
Satu'li Canteen at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park to food booths at EPCOT's various festivals to buying merchandise at stores.
AN EXTRA GEM: If you decide to make a mobile order, and you have an electronic Disney Gift Card, you can actually add that as a way to pay in the
My Disney Experience app. Select the three lines at the bottom right of your screen, click "My Profile" and then "Payment Method." This will come in handy when you'd like to order ahead and maximize your theme park time.
Martin, if you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to us (especially my awesome Canadian friend
Prince) because we are more than happy to make sure you have the BEST time this summer!
Magic always,
LeAndra
