Hi,arriving at WDW for the first time on 12/27-01/06/13.My 2 boys are fans of Star Wars so they would be thrilled to participate in the academy.Do you know if they can sign in in the morning extra magic hours? How do they get selected? If they answer wrong?

Hi Michelle! I just happened to be in Hollywood Studios two days ago and asked some questions about the Jedi Training signups! I am sure this is something your boys will love to participate in during your upcoming Disney trip! Signups are based on first come basis. A parent must head to the old Sounds Dangerous Studio to do this in person and the children must accompany the parent. They will be asked a couple of questions and there are no right or wrong answers so don't worry about this. The purpose of the questions is to see if the children will be able to participate in the show. If they are too shy at this time they will recommend they not go further in the process since it is important they are willing to be active participants on stage. The great news is that yes indeed you can sign up for the academy during Extra Morning Hours. They will fill the slots as they get the signups but you cannot request a certain time of day unless there is a dining reservation conflict and then they will work with you. Big can usually get to the Sounds Dangerous Studio before the rope drop so one parent should head with the kids to sign up for the Jedi Academy while the other goes to Toy Story Mania for Fast Passes. Meet at Toy Story and see if you can get in the standby line to get a quick ride on this attraction. Then head back over to Star Tours for a ride there or use the Fast Pass if possible for the second ride on Toy Story. Basically you should be able to do both rides once or twice and then the Jedi Academy all well before the masses of day visitors descend on the park! It is worth nudging the boys out of bed a little early that day!
