Ahoy Pamela!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. First, I want to say a big CONGRATULATIONS to your granddaughter and your whole family. As an oncology nurse who often treats patients with Lymphoma, I have witnessed just how difficult it is to fight this disease. What I find, though, is that patients and families can find this inner strength that they may never have known they have. They power through this battle and hold their head up high. Your granddaughter is now a survivor.
The first thing that you can do is stop at any Guest Services locations at any of the four Theme Parks, Disney Springs, or if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, the front desk. Ask them for an “I’m Celebrating” button. They will write whatever you like on there to celebrate her remission. I love it when I see “Survivor,” “Remission,” “Warrior,” etc. written on these pins.
One o’ me fav’rit experiences fer special occasions be a
Specialty Cruise. I love settin’ sail t’ experience th’
Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage. Ye will start yer adventure at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort located right next t’ Magic Kingdom. Yer entire crew will get t’ snack on a variety o’ delicious fruit, desserts, pretzels, chips, ‘n ice cream bars. Thar will be a variety o’ beverages includin’ me fav’rit Pirate Punch. Keep yer eyes peeled fer Captain Hook ‘n Cap’n Smee as they look for new crimps (that’s ye ya scallywag.) Be sure t’ brush up on yer pirate speak as ye’ll be needin’ it as ye breath in th’ salty sea air. Nah only will ye get t’ sin’ sea chanteys, but ye’ll drop anchor t’ experience Happily Ever After. If th’ weather on th’ high seas cooperate, ye’ll also get t’ experience a close up view o’ th’ Electrical Water Pageant. Guests celebratin’ a special milestone will also get special recognition. Advance Reservations are highly recommended ‘n can be made up t’ 90 days prior t’ yer visit
here or wit’ the’
My Disney Experience mobile app.
Whatever you decide to do during this most magical time, I hope that you all can laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and celebrate your granddaughter. You will forever be in my thoughts. I wish you the most spectacular time!
