Hello, Emma. Welcome to planDisney!
June is finally here, and you know what that means? You can officially say you're going to Walt Disney World NEXT MONTH! In just a few weeks, you'll be stepping into the magic for the very first time - and I truly couldn't be more excited for you! My kids are 5 and 9 now, but their first visits still feel like they were just yesterday. We've been back many times since then, but there's something about that first time that will live on in my heart forever. At the end of my daughter's first visit, I actually cried on our way back to the airport! It really
was that magical.
Emma, one of the things I love most about Disney World is that there's something to do for everyone. Unsurprisingly, you'll find TONS of incredible experiences for your
little ones, especially during
Cool KIDS' Summer. My kids are especially excited to dance with their
Toy Story friends at Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue! at Magic Kingdom Park and for the new Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Still, Bluey is BIG in my house, and so the main attraction for my family this summer is
Bluey's Wild World at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. To get there, take the Wildlife Express Train to the Conservation Station, where you'll meet and play with Bluey and Bingo! While you're there, be sure to check out the kangaroos and wallabies over at
Jumping Junction. This is a great chance to get up close and personal with some "for real life" Australian animals!
Now let's talk about your teens. While there's a lot to be said for classic Disney attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion, it's been my experience that teenagers are looking for
thrills. For big kid coasters that will rock their socks, try
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets at Hollywood Studios and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. Both of these attractions combine high-speed thrills with
legendary soundtracks - so it's impossible not to rock out!
I don't know about your little ones, but my 5-year-old is a little bit of a daredevil. This is why I LOVE that Disney World also has a bunch of family-friendly coasters that we all can ride together. As long as your youngest hits the height restrictions, your whole family can
chase the wind and touch the sky on fun-filled attractions like
Slinky Dog Dash,
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.
Finally, I have to recommend the
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After show over at Hollywood Studios. I finally got to screen it for my youngest on my last visit, and I'm happy to report that this interactive show is TONS of fun but definitely NOT scary - making it a crowd-pleaser for all ages.
Magical travels,
Allison
