Hiya, Josh! Welcome back to planDisney. We're happy you're here!
Oh boy, it sounds like you have a lot of fun coming up in a few months! There's truly nothing like visiting
The Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of year. I love the cooler temperatures which let me bounce from attraction to attraction without breaking a sweat (and even wearing a light sweatshirt – can you imagine?). And speaking of attractions, I'd love to help you and your family navigate
Rider Switch at Walt Disney World Resort!
Josh, I reached out to a Cast Member with your excellent question. I've seen one of my very best friends navigating getting motion sick on a lot of rides, so I have a lot of empathy for your wife! The Cast Member and I closely read the policies for Rider Switch. She let me know that she doesn't see a problem if you ride with your first child and then use Rider Switch to ride with your second child. The only time you may experience a difference would be if you purchased an
individually purchased Lightning Lane entrance or were trying to access a ride with a
virtual queue. (I would suggest including your wife in any virtual queues, even if she doesn't end up riding.) For each of these scenarios, the best recommendation is to speak to a Cast Member at the ride entrance! They will be happy to listen to your situation and provide you with the next best steps available to you. I'm wishing upon a star that you and your children get to ride everything your heart desires and that your wife stays healthy!
Before you arrive, I'd suggest taking a little time to download and explore the
My Disney Experience app! This is the best way to access virtual queues, check wait times for attractions, and even
mobile order food. And don't forget to pack your festive favorites if you plan on purchasing tickets for
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!
Wishing you the very merriest,
Michelle
