Hey yall, Im from way... down south Louisiana and was wondering if I stayed at PO would I enjoy the surroundings? Is it really like the old New Orleans feel. Would it feel like I was on a vacation or just back home. Thanks

    Hi Vanessa!

As a fellow South Louisiana chick, I have spent more than my fair share of time in the French Quarter.  As you probably know, the Quarter is well, umm, less than clean and certainly not a place you would want to find yourself alone in a dark alley!  Picture Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter as a sanitized version of what most people think New Orleans is like.  Please don't get me wrong, I'm very proud to be from N'awlins, but you would never smell garbage (or worse!) while strolling along Disney's cobblestone streets!

It's a little like watching a movie supposedly set in New Orleans, where everyone speaks with a Southern drawl and calls each other honey child.  It's the same, only different - does that make any sense???  Port Orleans French Quarter is gorgeous and we love it, but I think that you might enjoy staying in Port Orleans Riverside even more.  The landscaping is gorgeous and it is more of a change of pace.  Honesty, both sides of Port Orleans are my favorite moderate resorts and you really can't go wrong with either!!!

    Much pixie dust cher!
