Hey! I will be visiting Disneyland on the 21st of August. Will I be able to enjoy the Halloween themed haunted house? Or other Halloween fun?

Hello, Alisha, and a very warm welcome to planDisney!

Thank you for stopping by with your question. What an exciting and very special visit you have in the works to the Happiest Place on Earth! The end of August is one of my family's favorite times of year to visit Disneyland, for so many reasons. This year, Halloween Time is scheduled to officially return August 22 and, with that, themed attractions, entertainment, dining and more. It's important to know, Alisha, that the entertainment and attraction refurbishment schedules aren't released until about six weeks out, but the Disneyland website does state that Haunted Mansion Holiday will reopen on August 22 and my best guess is that it will not be opening earlier than that. I'm sorry that this is not the news you were hoping for!

I encourage you to check the Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website as your visit gets closer. The Daily Events Schedule is an incredibly helpful resource, providing entertainment schedules, attraction closure information, park hours, as well as the events occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.

What is currently on the calendar, however, are all the dates for my favorite after-hours party at Disneyland Resort - Oogie Boogie Bash, which includes the date of your visit, Alisha! My son and I had so much fun at Oogie Boogie Bash last year dressed as Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Our highlights included the exclusive Frightfully Fun Parade featuring the real Jack and Sally, the hauntingly beautiful Villains Grove, and lower wait times for attractions. This after-hours party requires a separate ticket, so make sure to be following the Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland's Instagram account so you don't miss announcements about when tickets will go on sale, if you're interested in attending. It's a very popular event!

I hope this information has been helpful! And remember, if any other planning questions come up, anything from how to utilize the Disneyland app or more details on Oogie Boogie Bash, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland!

Above all, from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the most magical visit, Alisha!

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
