Hey howdy hey, Sharon, and thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Yes, you can certainly add
Disney MaxPass to your
theme park ticket on the day of your visit, as soon as you pass through the Main Entrance gates of
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park. There isn’t a big advantage to adding MaxPass ahead of time, except for the convenience of not having to add it each day of your trip. But, this really isn’t an issue, since it’s a simple process to add MaxPass by using the
Disneyland app on your phone. So, ahead of your arrival, I recommend downloading the Disneyland app, setting up your Disney account, and adding your tickets so you’re all ready to add MaxPass if you decide to.
If you’re unsure if you want to add MaxPass, you can check at the individual attractions to see what times are currently offered with
Disney FASTPASS. There are also boards located inside both parks to advise you of wait times, so you can check these as well. Just ask a Cast Member if you need help locating them, or check attraction wait times on the Disneyland app instead.
Then, if you decide to add MaxPass, simply tap the “+” symbol on the bottom of the Disneyland app, then select “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass.” Next, select which tickets you’d like to add MaxPass to.
Keep in mind that there is another big advantage to adding MaxPass to your ticket, which is receiving unlimited digital downloads of your
Disney PhotoPass photos for the day! So, even if you decide not to add it for every member of your group, I suggest at least one Guest adds it to have this perk!
Lastly, here’s the
Entertainment Schedule for your day of arrival so you can start mapping out the magic. You’re visiting at the perfect time, since the
Main Street Electrical Parade is back for a limited time at Disneyland Park! I can’t wait for you to experience this magical, timeless nighttime parade!
See ya’ real soon!
