Hey My sister is doing the 20th ann wdw marathon in Jan 2013. I want to support can I stand in the parks somewhere she would pass me? ie standing on main street b/c she passes there. also are the rides closed that day since runners will be all over? thank

Hi Amanda!  That is so wonderful that you want to support your sister.  I can truly say that the support of all the fans during race days are part of what makes the runDisney races so special.

You can definitely stand on Main Street to see your sister as she runs toward Cinderella Castle!  If she is like me, she may be wiping the tears from her face as she does so!  You may also want to check out the chEAR squad packages available for spectators.  These include things like  priority seating and  use of the race retreat tent at the finish area.  You don't have to be on the chEAR squad to be on Main Street though.

The rides will be operating as usual once normal park hours begin.  There may be a few detours or closures during racing hours, but it will all be back to normal very early in the day.  The runners start racing before 6 a.m., so they are usually finishing up as most people are just getting to breakfast!

I hope this helps!  Tell your sister good luck with her training!  She picked a great Disney race!
