Bright suns, Matthew, and welcome to planDisney! As a fellow Georgian, I'm so glad you've found us here. My fellow Panelists and I are happy to help Guests just like you! It sounds like you're planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort during spooky season - how exciting!
Matthew, you'll be happy to know that your costume seems like it will be in alignment with Walt Disney World Resort's
guidelines for costumes for
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. The guidelines are not only strictly enforced by Cast Members, but they're actually helpful. It would be uncomfortable and impractical to wear a mask that obstructs your vision, and your costume would surely be ruined if it were to drag along the ground all evening, so you've got the right idea! As a southerner, you know that the weather remains warm well into the fall, so keep an eye on the forecast and consider bringing a change of clothes if you feel like you'll be too warm in a costume with a cape - I say this from experience! You can stow your items in a rented
locker at the front of Magic Kingdom Park if you don't want to carry a bag with you.
If I can make another suggestion, I'd encourage you to arrive early for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You should be able to enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4:00pm, and you'll pick up your wristband and trick-or-treat bag to use throughout the evening. The party won't technically start for a few hours, but you'll be able to take advantage of that time in the park! I also recommend enjoying a big meal before you arrive, so you don't spend too much of your valuable party time in a restaurant. There will be plenty of unique and seasonal snacks to enjoy and keep you fed during the event!
Matthew, be sure to read all about the frightful festivities that you can be part of during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. My very favorite is the
Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular featuring the amazingly talented Sanderson Sisters. They'll have you singing along and you'll dance, dance, dance 'til you die!
I hope this is helpful as you plan your vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have!
Happy Halloween planning!
Jennifer
