Hey there, Dezarae, and welcome to planDisney!
So, you're planning a magical trip to Walt Disney World with your little ones this spring? Say no more, my friend! Some of my favorite Disney World memories are from when my kiddos were small. It's hard to explain the way it feels to see the magic through their eyes!
While there's truly no bad time to visit Disney World, I'll be real with you, Dezarae: my favorite time to visit is always in the spring. With beautiful weather, (mostly) manageable crowds, and the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, what's
not to love? You've already chosen a great season to visit. Now, the only thing left to do is to narrow down those dates. Let's jump right in and take a look at your options!
Dezarae, May is a wonderful time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth. In fact, it's my family's favorite time to go! When I plan a spring trip, I aim for the weeks
after Easter, but
before Memorial Day. Crowds are generally a little lighter during this stretch of time, and we love the way things cool off after the sun goes down! Since both of your dates fall within this timeframe, you really can't go wrong with either. April will offer slightly cooler weather, while May afternoons make for magical pool days. I know it's not an easy decision, so if you still need help deciding, there's one more thing you may want to consider. Every year, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival features the popular
Garden Rocks Concert Series (you can check out the full schedule
here). If you choose your April dates, you'll have the chance to check out Information Society, Rick Springfield, and Berlin. If you choose the May dates, you'll see Josiah Queen and
American Idol winner Iam Tongi!
Now, I know that you're visiting with small kids, and of course, there are SO many things to do in Disney World that they will love. But if you think that my
favorite festival ever is only fun for grown-ups, I want to assure you that your kids will love it, too! First of all, you should know that those incredible outdoor kitchens offer plenty of delicious, kid-friendly options. Even better? There are lots of fun activities for families, including Spike's PollenNation Exploration (a scavenger hunt adventure) and Butterfly Landing presented by AdventHealth (a walkthrough butterfly garden your kids won't want to miss). Last year, there was even an interactive playground called Playalong Bay Play Garden, and my kids LOVED getting their jiggles out there! My husband and I grabbed a cocktail from a nearby booth, and we all got a much-needed chance to relax.
I hope this information is helpful, Dezarae, and that your family's visit is full of magical memories. If you have any other planning questions, you know
where to find me right here at planDisney!
See ya real soon,
Allison
