Hey there! I am planning a quick weekend trip to Disneyland in April. While I’m a Disney World veteran I have no idea how Disneyland works when it comes to booking fast passes ahead of time?? We are not staying in a Disneyland Resort. thanks!!

    Hey there Reagan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited for you to take a trip to where it all began at the Disneyland Resort! While you will see some familiar sights from the Walt Disney World Resort, you will find the charm and unique areas of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park to be quite a new and refreshing experience. I visit both Resorts frequently, and the biggest difference that you will notice between them is the proximity of the Disneyland Resort theme parks and Downtown Disney District. You can get anywhere easily by foot!

Other differences between Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are booking windows and how the Disney FASTPASS system works. Dining at Disneyland Resort can be booked up to 60 days in advance versus the longer booking window at Walt Disney World Resort. Also tours, such as the Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps Tour, can be booked up to 30 days in advance.

You also do not have to worry about making any FASTPASS selections before arriving. If you like the convenience of making digital FASTPASS selections at Walt Disney World Resort, you will just love Disney MaxPass at the Disneyland Resort. You can purchase this service when you buy your park tickets or after you scan through the gate when you enter the park in the morning using the Disneyland app. Once in the park, you can start making your FASTPASS selections! If you have a Park Hopper Ticket you can even make selections for one park while you are in the other. This service also includes unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass pictures taken the days you purchase MaxPass. It has really changed the way we visit the parks for the better!

I can't wait for your trip, and have a magical day!
