Hi Yarvelle,
Welcome back to planDisney. I’m so glad you stopped by as you prepare for what’s sure to be a fantastic visit to
The Most Magical Place On Earth this July. You’ll be in for a treat, especially with the warm Florida sun and the occasional afternoon rain shower helping to cool things off a bit. While you're soaking up the summer vibes, don't forget to take advantage of one of my favorite seasonal offerings,
complimentary admission to a Disney water park on your Disney Resorts Collection hotel check-in day. It’s the perfect way to kick off your trip, splash around, and beat the heat before even stepping foot in a theme park.
Speaking of cool downs, the pools across Walt Disney World Resort are something special. A few of my family’s favorites include the zero-entry Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the sprawling Big Blue Pool at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and the incredible Stormalong Bay, a sand-bottomed mini water park in itself, shared by Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. The BoardWalk Inn pool, with its nostalgic charm and nearby BoardWalk treats, is also a go-to.
Regarding your question, I looked into the
current guidelines, and while I don’t see anything specifically listed that prohibits bringing a 2-gallon water jug or cooler like the one you described, it’s important to note that security ultimately has discretion at the gate. If an item is deemed to be too large or a potential concern, it could be denied entry. For that reason, I’d recommend opting for something smaller and more personal in size, easier to manage, and more likely to pass through security without issue.
When my family visits in the summer, we each bring a refillable water bottle that we fill up in the morning at our resort. Throughout the day, we stop at quick-service locations for free cups of ice water or refill at water fountains and refill stations scattered across the parks. It keeps everyone hydrated and comfortable without the need to lug around something bulky. Plus, smaller bottles fit nicely in attraction compartments or seat-back pouches, something that wouldn’t likely work with a jug of that size.
And when you’re ready for a refreshment with a little more flavor, I’ve got a few favorites to share. The blue raspberry or classic iced Coke slush over in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom is always a hit. In EPCOT, don’t miss the
frozen coffee in the Norway Pavilion or the tangy grapefruit beer in Germany, both great picks for a quick cool down. And no trip is complete without a
DOLE Whip. It’s a classic for a reason.
Here’s to a wonderful summer visit filled with fun, cool treats, and unforgettable moments. If you need anything else as your trip approaches,
I’m here for you.
See you real soon,
Brent
