Hiya, Alyssa!
Welcome to planDisney. Oh boy, it sounds like you have quite an exciting vacation coming up with two magical birthdays during your visit to Walt Disney World. Alyssa, we have celebrated many milestone birthdays, including all three of my kids' first birthdays, and many more since.
First, if your little ones haven't yet had a first haircut, one of our favorite things we did on our kids' first birthday celebrations was get their first haircuts at
Harmony Barbershop on Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom. Not only are the Cast Members absolute pros in distracting the little Mouseketeers during their visit, but they also gave them their very own Mickey Ears hat that said "First Haircut." It was a magical way to celebrate their big milestone indeed.
If they are interested in Characters, a
Character Breakfast might be a great way to celebrate their birthday trip as well. My kids loved Mickey from the first time they laid eyes on him, so the chance to meet the Big Cheese in person was very special indeed.
You can
order a cake to have delivered to one of your dining reservations, and a themed dinner at Be Our Guest or Cinderella's Royal Table would be a great way to ensure your little ones feel like a prince or princess. We also like to have a surprise in the room on our kids' birthdays. This is handled by an
outside vendor, but it can be delivered to your Resort to greet the special Guests on arrival. From Character shaped balloons to special treats, there are a variety of options to make them feel special. Also, be sure and tell the Front Desk at your Resort that it is their birthday trip, and they will get a special button to wear letting everyone know it is their birthday.
For the theme parks to visit, each of the theme parks have "any height" attractions. But my personal favorites when my kids were the ages of yours were
Magic Kingdom Park and
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. Magic Kingdom is a pixie-dusted wonderland for little ones and there are many toddler-friendly attractions, like "it's a small world," Dumbo, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Peter Pan's Flight to name a few. If your tots get tired and need a break, you can take in a show like Mickey's Philharmagic or take a train ride around the park. Dumbo and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh have interactive areas where tots can stretch their legs while waiting their turn to ride.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, Kilimanjaro Safaris is great for little ones and they will get to see many animals roaming the savannah. Also, Rafiki's Planet Watch is a short train ride to the Conservation Area and there is a petting zoo there little ones will love. The Dinosaur area has the The Boneyard playground for tots to run around and stretch their legs, and I also love Na'vi River Journey which takes you on a boat ride through a bioluminescent rainforest. It's sure to captivate your little ones.
EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios also have toddler-friendly attractions, but you'll find the most in the parks I mentioned. But at all four of the theme parks, you will find Baby Care Centers
if you need to change a diaper, give a snack, or take a break.
I hope this helps you, Alyssa! Stop back and see us if you have more questions.
Ta Ta For Now,
Keri
