Hi Ashley,

It doesn't happen often but, yes, free upgrades on hotel rooms are occasionally granted to guests staying at Disney resorts. In fact, when my family stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge last September we were surprised to discover at check-in that the standard room we had booked had been upgraded (without further cost) to a room with a courtyard view. What a delightful surprise!

You are always welcome to ask when you arrive at your Disney resort if a complimentary upgrade is available. There are no guarantees that your request will be granted but it doesn't hurt to ask politely. You never know what pixie dust might come your way.
