Hi Kathleen,
Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are great options for both of your kids. Each park has a fabulously-themed "kiddie" area for young children with mini slides, splash areas and sprinklers. At Blizzard Beach, this area is called "Tikes Peak" and is a mini replica of the entire park. It has wonderful , shaded areas with
picnic tables and lounge chairs, and is a great place to "set up camp" for the day. At Typhoon Lagoon, the kiddie area is "Ketchakiddie Creek". In my opinion, there are more attractions for little kids at Blizzard Beach, however, both have plenty of options for small children.
Both parks also have tons of intermediate and more adventurous slides, pools and raft rides if your son is a bit more daring. At Typhoon Lagoon, there is a giant wave pool and an opportunity to go
snorkeling with sea life. At Blizzard Beach, there is an amazing family raft ride (Teamboat Springs) that all of you can ride (no swimming required). It's not scary and a great way for your entire family to enjoy an attraction together. Both parks have great Lazy Rivers.
Life vests are available for all guests free of charge, so be sure to pick one (or two) up if it would make you or your children feel more comfortable. Finally, I recommend bringing your own towels for the day, as there is a fee to "rent" the water park towels.
Have a great day splashing around!
Tanya
