Hey all!! We would love to take a cruise leaving out of a port without having to fly first. Are there any plans to have ships leaving out of NY or NJ again?

Hiya, Concetta! Thanks for paying us a visit here at planDisney with this question that’s on so many of our minds.

While we have seen the release of itineraries through the Summer of 2026, unfortunately, there is no word yet on if and when Disney Cruise Line will start sailing out of New York again. Typically, we see itineraries announced about 13-18 months in advance, so I would continue to check the website, as well as keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the Disney Cruise Instagram page for updates.

Not having to fly to a departure port would be ideal, but I’m also thankful we have four mainland US ports to choose from. Since you’re on the East Coast, I’d like to suggest my favorite departure port: Fort Lauderdale. Not only will you find many direct flights from New York, the Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is only about 15 minutes from Port Everglades (depending on the traffic). Plus, you can purchase an airport shuttle for both embarkation and debarkation days.

In the meantime, I’ll be here dreaming of my next Disney Cruise. If we can ever help you do the same, I hope you’ll sail back to us here at planDisney!

    Embrace the magic,
    Sami
