Hey Karmeen! I love EPCOT, especially trying food and drinks from different countries. As I plan a trip to Disneyland Resort, what parks, lands, or dining spots would you recommend for a similar global, food-focused experience?

Hiya, Tiesha, and welcome to planDisney!

I see that you hail from the Magnolia State, where the food is almost always amazing! I am sure there are some dining options at the Disneyland Resort that will satisfy your taste buds. Let’s get started!

While the cultural focus of the Disneyland Resort is heavily influenced by the state of California, you’ll be surprised to find that there are diverse cuisines available throughout the Resort. I believe you will find the most options for your curated “World Showcase” experience at the Downtown Disney District:
    • Mexico: If you want a luxury indoor dining experience from Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytán, visit Paseo. If you want that same luxury taste on a budget, check out Céntrico, an open-air experience also from Chef Gaytán. Lastly, if street food is your vibe, you will love Tiendita!
    • Italy: For an authentic Italian dining experience, check out Naples Ristorante e Bar. This place has much more than just pizza, but I personally loved the Hot Honey Soppressata.
    • Asia: While there isn't a dedicated Chinese restaurant at the Resort, you can still enjoy similar flavors. Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese restaurant offering baos, dumplings, wontons, and more! Seoul Sister is a quick-service Korean spot that offers delicious bowls.
The coolest part about Downtown Disney is that you can experience the shops and restaurants without a theme park ticket!

If you’re looking for a similar experience inside one of the parks, I recommend that you focus on Disney California Adventure. Here are two options that can fulfill your needs:
    • Italy: Across from Cars Land, you will find Wine Country Trattoria. You will find yourself completely immersed in an Italian culinary experience at this sit-down restaurant. I recommend booking a dining reservation for this spot! The reservation window typically opens 60 days in advance.
    • Multicultural: On Pixar Pier, you will find my favorite spot, Lamplight Lounge! This restaurant is equipped with a culturally diverse menu. Again, a dining reservation is recommended. If you’re visiting during the weekend, be sure to check it out for brunch and ask for a waterfront seat!

Bonus Tip: If you want even more international options, consider visiting during the Holidays too! Each year, Disney California Adventure hosts the Disney Festival of Holidays. During this festival, there are multiple booths throughout the park offering holiday dishes inspired by various cultures.

Tiesha, I hope this helps and that you have the most magical time during your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to reach back out to us here at planDisney. We would love to hear from you again!

Sending you faith, trust, and pixie dust,
    Karmeen
