Hey Jackie! My 9 yr old dtr really wants to do the Wild Africa Trek. I know it's around $190 & was wondering if it's worth the high price. Do you get that much closer to the animals? If we only have 1 day at AK, will it eat up most of our day? Thank

    Hi Amy!

If I could only use one word to describe the Wild Africa Trek, it would be "AWESOME!"  My eight year old was probably its biggest fan and not a week goes by that he doesn't gleefully recount our adventure.  We were able to get ridiculously close to the hippos, thanks to a safety vest attached to a wire line.  We also travelled a precarious rope bridge right above hungry crocodiles who were just waiting to snap us right up!  Our private safari truck travelled and stopped according to the whim of its driver and where the animals were most prevalent.  It was truly a custom safari experience!!!

That being said, it does cost a pretty penny - particularly when you are looking at providing access for an entire family!  Also, it will take the better part of a day to enjoy the trek.  If you only have one day at Disney's Animal Kingdom, you can plan on spending the majority of your time on this adventure.  In my honest opinion, if this is your daughter's first trip to Animal Kingdom, I would spend this day enjoying all that it has to offer...and that is a LOT!  If you make a return trip to Animal Kingdom, then I would absolutely go for it.  Enjoy your fantastic vacation!

    Much pixie dust,
