Hey! I'm planning on taking my mother on her first ever Disney Vacation for around a week or so! What is the best way for me, a 2 time visitor before this upcoming visit, to get the most out of a Walt Disney World Vacation for a first timer like her?

What a great son you are, Paul! (For both the trip AND the thoughtful planning!) Disney Parks Moms approve!

For your mom's first visit, I'd be sure to plan a trip which allows her to experience all of the must-dos first, such as a photo of the two of you in front of Cinderella Castle, dinner in the newest Magic Kingdom gem, Be Our Guest Restaurant and the chance to view all of the parks' nighttime spectacles such as Wishes, Fantasmic and IlumiNations. Pick up a complimentary Celebration Button which advertises that it's your mom's first visit, too, so Cast Members will be sure to wish her well and make you both feel extra-welcome.

If you need a bit of a refresher, take a look at this post on Planning Your First Trip to Walt Disney World Resort. This might help you to plan where you'll stay, which parks you'll visit and if you'd like to add options such as the Disney Dining Plan or the Park Hopper Option.

Don't forget that you'll never be able to show Mom all of the magic in WDW within one week, so take it easy and plan an itinerary which will wow her without exhausting her. Send me another question with the dates of your stay and interests your mom may have (coaster lover? foodie?) and I'd be happy to help you craft the perfect visit for both of you.

Happy planning, Paul! Don't forget to send more questions as you think of them; I love to help!
