Hey! How are you? I'm looking to plan a family trip for the month of July. It's so much to choose from on the website it's a bit overwhelming. Can you help me please

Hi Brittany! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

One of my favorite parts of a Disneyland Resort vacation is the anticipation and planning, but I understand how it can feel overwhelming, especially if it is your first trip or you haven't been recently. The theme parks change sometimes pretty quickly. I can make some suggestions to make the process seem a little less daunting.

I'd suggest choosing either a Disneyland Resort Hotel Vacation Package or a Good Neighbor Hotel Vacation Package. My family's favorite is the on-site Disneyland Hotel, which is conveniently located by the Disneyland Monorail, which brings you directly into Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. Vacation Packages offer good value, combining your stay with your theme park admission tickets. On-site hotels feature Early Entry, for example, and being from a different time zone, you might find yourself to be an early riser, which you can turn into more time in the parks. That's what my family does! To chat with a helpful Cast Member about choosing a Vacation Package, you can call the dedicated Vacation Packages phone line.

If you're feeling overwhelmed about planning your actual time at the parks, the Disneyland mobile app is the place to start. It's a handy planning tool and you'll be using it in the parks, so playing around with it in advance will make it easier to use when you arrive. Download the app and sign in to your Disneyland account. The mobile app features a complimentary Disney Genie Service, which acts as your personal planning tool. You select preferences for your group from the top attractions you want to experience, shows, and dining, and it will populate your day with its tips, suggesting a virtual plan. From there, you can book a Lightning Lane Entrance if you have purchased Genie+, see wait times, place a mobile order for Quick Service Dining, or make a reservation to dine at a Table Service location, all built around the preferences you imputed. All you got to do is rub that lamp! Or you know, just download the app.

I hope this is helpful! Don't stress, because this will be a magical trip. We visited in July and had the best time. Be sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, reusable water bottles, light clothing, and a swimsuit for an afternoon break from the sun. To keep up to date on what new things you can explore during your visit, check out the Disney Parks Blog.

    Have the best time!
