Hey there, I’m heading to Grad Nite on the 25th, and am planning to bring my Legacy Lightsaber the park. I know it is usually allowed while going to Disneyland, but is it allowed for me to bring on Grad Nite? I want to make sure it doesn’t get confiscated!

    Bright suns, Dustin!

Congratulations! As you advance from a young padawan to a graduate, I can think of no better place to celebrate than the Disneyland Resort.

To help you avoid the dark side of the Force, you will be expected to follow all of the regular Disneyland Resort property rules and not bring any prohibited items with you to Disneyland Resort Grad Nite. In addition, you should contact the designated representative of your school or sponsoring organization for event-specific rules set forth by your organization. Disneyland Resort Security and other Cast Members have additional discretion and will have the final say in what items and behaviors are permitted.

If you know that participants from your organization will have free time before the start of Grad Nite, for example, to park hop from Disneyland Park, you may have a chance to store items in one of the limited number of lockers outside the theme parks. Otherwise, because a lightsaber may be considered by some to be a safety risk in the context of Grad Nite, my recommendation would be to keep your Jedi weapon safe and secure at home, just in case. In the end, you may find it more convenient to have fewer items to carry with you throughout the night.

With or without your lightsaber, I hope you have a most memorable time during Grad Nite, Dustin. If you’d like to celebrate in the spirit of Star Wars, you may also enjoy bounding in the style of your favorite character or theme. Just be sure to stay within the dress code guidelines of the Disneyland Resort and of your organization or school.

May the Force be with you, Dustin,

    ~Tony
