    Hey Moms. i'm 46 & I don't like a lot of food. Have deluxe dining plan. If nothing I'll eat for adult, can i use my deluxe ticket to get something off the children's menu? I understand it might be a waste, but that would be disney MY way. =-)

    Hi Diana! You remind me of my husband. He has a fairly limited diet too; if we dine at a restaurant with more exotic foods, such as Boma, he'll usually fill his plate with the chicken tenders and other items from the kiddie section of the buffet. Likewise, my son who is considered an "adult" by Disney, still prefers the food on the children's menu. (Wonder where he got that from?!) Thankfully, Disney is very accommodating of picky eaters and special dietary requests. Chefs are happy to serve items plain or without sauces. One time at Jiko my husband requested that his filet not be served atop the macaroni and cheese because he doesn't like his foods to touch, and the server happily obliged, even explaining that such a request is not infrequent and is known as "tv dinner style" in the restaurant business. If nothing on the adult menu appeals to you, just tell the server you'd like to order from the children's menu or ask if the chef can prepare the type of food that you like. My son often orders a grilled cheese sandwich, even when it's not listed on the children's menu, and most restaurants are able to make one for him; some even bring him an adult-sized portion of multiple sandwiches. Ordering from the kids' menu is not the most cost-effective use of your adult dining plan credit, but if you get food that makes you happy, that's all that matters.
