Hey! We (me, husband,10yr old, 8yr old, and Mom) are planning our vacation Nov 18-23. We have 1 BR villa AKL savanna view or 2 BR villa SS in mind. LOVE the Animal Kingdom idea but how comfortable will we all really be with pull out beds so close? Opinion?

    Hi Dianna,

Honestly, I can see why you are having a dilemma. These are both great options. We have stayed in both of these resorts and room types.

The 2 bedroom Villa's at Saratoga Springs Resort are beautiful and we loved them. They have a lot of space and the 2 bathrooms come in handy. Some of the units are within walking distance of Downtown Disney, which is nice. The main pool is fabulous. However, the resort is a bit of a distance from the parks.

The Savanna View rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge are incredible. I absolutely love the Lodge itself and there's just something very special about watching animals off your balcony. While these are also a bit of a distance from the parks, I feel it is more worth it because of how cool the Lodge is. You would definitely have less space in the 1 bedroom Villa versus the 2 bedroom. One bathroom may be a bit of a pain, but it would just take a little more flexibility with the shower schedule. The pools are great here as well.

Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either option. However, if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is just such a unique Resort and the Savanna View is worth the tighter fit. We don't spend much time in our room anyway, so I'd opt for a super cool view for when I am there. Be sure to book dinner at Boma, it is not to be missed!

    Have a wonderful vacation,
