Hey guys so I am trying to plan a trip next year for thanksgiving week. So we were looking at the campsites but it's not showing any dates available in November. Is the campsite close in November?

    Hi Brandi!

We love spending time in the fall at the Fort Wilderness Resort. The weather has turned to be quite comfortable and the rains have basically disappeared.

Because of this the campsites have now become one of the most popular reservations at Walt Disney World at many times of the year. Starting mid October through Christmas a reservation can be difficult. The Fort Wilderness Resort is indeed open and going well even after the latest hurricane.

Your best bet is to keep calling or checking on line and try getting a reservation starting mid week versus the weekend. Then get it for as long as you can and you can later cancel those few days you might not stay. Often the weekends are the hardest to get but many times you can get something by starting mid week to mid week. Perseverance pays off when trying to snag a campsite.

If you are looking at a premium site but they only have a full hook up please go ahead and grab that. The Full Hookup sites are actually quite beautiful and it is better to get something then nothing. And often they can upgrade you once you arrive.

Good luck and I hope to see you here next fall enjoying all the wonderful activities at the Fort as well as all over Walt Disney World!
