Hey everyone, I have been to Disney lots....usually we go in February or March...this time due to cost and other things we are going in April...with 9 people. Wondering about crowds and possible dining options that will be best...we have 4 kids under 8.

    Hi Dana!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for your upcoming trip, and I have great news: April is a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World Resort!

My family has experienced phenomenal weather (think cool mornings and gorgeous, sunny afternoons) and moderate crowds in April. A great bonus to an April trip is Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. Our family loves to see the incredible Disney character topiaries, and to explore the festival's exhibits, demonstrations, and food booths.

As for dining options, there are a lot of restaurants that are great for large parties with younger kids. We had an absolute blast at Whispering Canyon Cafe, which has delicious, generous portions and in-house fun. My favorite character meals are breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at ‘Ohana and the princess breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall; both feature an adorable, interactive parade with the characters. Another great option is Via Napoli, which has fantastic pizza that is always a hit with my kids. One of my favorite tips for dining with young children is to be sure to ask your server if you don’t see anything on the menu that appeals to your child. They can sometimes sprinkle some pixie dust to find something that works!

    Have a magical vacation!
